Britain Set to Use Frozen Russia's Assets to Support Ukraine's Military Campaign

The UK is ready to advance with employing the full worth of seized Russian holdings to bolster Ukraine's military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the UK, the French Republic, and Germany asserted that this coordinated action would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel Russia to participate in talks.

They clarified that the decision would be carried out in strong partnership with the America.

British penalties have immobilized over £25bn of Russia's assets since Moscow began its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. But, until now, funds allocated to Ukraine using Russia's holdings had exclusively been sourced from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir told President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were aligned in their aim to advance efforts toward using the complete amount of the seized Russia's state funds to conclude the conflict.

He noted that additional measures in the coming days and weeks would increase the strain on Moscow.

This announcement follows European representatives met in the Danish capital previously to debate utilizing immobilized Russia's holdings for a €140 billion financial aid to Ukraine.

Last month, President Donald Trump called on international partners to confiscate or utilize seized Russia's assets, as reported by reports.

The worth of immobilized Russia's holdings in the Europe is estimated to be nearly €211bn.

President Zelensky encourages Britain's Sir Keir Starmer to participate in the Purl programme

Moscow executed widespread bombardments all over Ukraine on recently, resulting in power cuts in significant regions of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and several other zones.

Several persons were lost their lives and a minimum of 20 people were hurt in the assault, authorities in Ukraine said.
