I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.

Ex two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
