Iran Reports Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched operations across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any damage is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have shot down missiles in their air space.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.

The statement noted missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
