Skydance Paramount will start mass layoffs the week of 27 October, cutting about 2,000 positions in the United States under a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.
These job cuts follow the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed in August worth $8.4bn.
Additional global layoffs are anticipated, with Paramount Skydance intending to reveal full details in its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.
Earlier reports suggested the company aimed to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 jobs before the start of November.
By December 2024, the organization retained almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts and 3,500 temporary project employees.
The company did not immediately respond on the matter.
